Repairing a split door panel in Southampton. This split in a door panel happens when the door is in an exposed position, full sun all day through the summer and rain water in the winter. There is no need to replace the door saving you money and the enviroment, one less tree to be felled and one less door to be got rid of. Using a method i first used in my boat building days i machine out a groove about 12mm (1/2″) wide and about the same depth and then machine a piece of hardwood to fit into the groove this is then glued in place and the moulding detail shaped with a chisel. this process is called splinning,
